Heart of Darkness

      This book was written by Joseph Conrad, and first published in 2007. The genre is adventure novel and the theme is darkness in our heart same as the title. The main character is Marlow, he is on the boat, talking to his friends abou this memories. When he was younger, he got a chance to go to Africa, he got into the boat and traveled. One day, he heard about a guy named Kurtz who is like a God. Everyone follow what he said. Marlow got into the boat again, and tried to find him. On the way to see him, his friends on the boat were killed, and a lot of things happeen. Could he meet him? find it.

From reading this story, I learned everyone had the dark side in our heart. Sometimes, it can be  for a good reason, but sometimes not. Are you a good person? Nobody can say "Yes" because you have lied before, of course. From this book, you may be sad, you may learn a lot from this book. The story goes slowly but you will feel something and learn a lot after you finish reading. I recommend you to read this book.

     This is the story about journey to Africa and also journey to "heart of darkness". Marlow, the main character of this story, told his members about his experience. He worked in a trading company and he had opportunity to go to Africa and saw a lot of cruel things; natives working as slaves. As he spent some time is Africa, he heard one man's name, Kurtz, who was the greatest business man in that company. Marlow started his journey to reach Kurtz. And he found that heart of darkness that everyone have in their deep inside.

   I would like to recommend you to read and think about your life. This is not like a novel or a short story. This is like a book of philosophy. The author experienced that period of time; war and slavery. I thought he found his desire, what is really wanted to do before he died. Also he thought, human's life is fleeting. People hide their true heart others hardly see. If you can see and find the "dark side of people's heart", you may understand them and also yourself more.

This  story is about successful process of Benetton. Benetton owned and run by Luciano, Giuliana, Gilberto and Carlo. They succeeded at business in the world.

The main character is Luciano Benetton. The beginning of this story is the middle of Second World War. His father died because of the war. The family became poor, so he had to work hard with his younger sister Giuliana. Though he worked at clothing store as a salesclerk, he did not like the style of clothes stores. There was counter, and it separeted the customers and the salesclerk. He decided to start clothes business with his family.
First, he changed the traditional sweaters color to bright such as yellows, greens and blues. Then he created new store style. There were shelves of sweaters around the walls, and no counter. In addition, he used advertisements to make Benetton famous. These were related to social problems, racial equally, black and white, AIDs and so on.
However, he faced many troubles........

This is  huge success story. I did not know Benetton had such a big background. He had never gave up and been at a loss to succeed. I was really impressed. I did not read much these kind of books until now, but I found success story gives us hope and courage through this story. I think when people do something new or big, people might face troubles and be blamed. However, success people certainly overcome these difficulties. Luciano must be one of such a people. Anyway, I recommend that you read this terrific book.

     The book, Benetton was wrriten by Jonathan Mantle, and first published in 1999.

 

     Have you ever heard the brand name, Benetton? It is very famous all over the world. Today, there are 8000 stores in 120 countries. This book is about the history of Italian family, Beneton. The beginning of the story, they were in the Second World War, and really poor. Luciano Benetton was only eight years old, but he started to work in the clothes company with his sister, Giuliana. Then, he changed to the new systems that there was no counter in his shop, and he and Giuliana made the colorful sweaters, such as yellows, greens, and pale blues. Moreover, he made some shocking advertisements.

     I was really enjoyed this book. I could not stop reading. The theme of this story is the importance of helping each other. If you want to success, you will take risks. However, it is important for you to help each other at that time. Recently, I saw one advertisement which a president kisses a president of other countries. I was shocked when I saw it for the first time. Benetton's advertisements always tell us about peace. They are really interesting. I think most people know fashion brand, Benetton, but do not know his history. I recommend you to read this book.

The setting is on a sailboat on the River Thames, and the main character is Marlow who is a member of the crews. He tells his friends about his experiences as the steamboat captain on the River Congo. He traveled a lot of countries and he came back to London but he realized that he had never been to Africa. And then, he entered the trading company with his relative’s help. Thus, he got the chance to go there. He watched slave there and he heard about Mr. Kurtz who is representative of the company. Mr. Kurtz brings a lot of ivories but when he arrived and took off the loads from his boat, he returned to the interior of the jungle. And then Mr. Kurtz caused him to question his own nature and values of his society.

This story was written from real experiences. And also, I think Joseph Conrad tried to write about the darkness of human soul same as this title.

This book, 'Heart of darkness' was written by the British writer Joseph Conrad and published in 1902. Conrad wrote this novel from his own experience as a member in steamboat. 
The protagonist Charlie Marlow and his companions were along the River Thames, and he started talking about his experience as a steamboat captain on the River Congo. He saw a horrible situation there. One day, he heard that there was a great, important, brilliant agent named Kurtz. Marlow was getting interested in him, as he went, he knew something serious and weird...?
Honestly, I didn't get what this novel really wanted to say clearly. However, I think this novel includes the human's darkness. Though Marlow saw black people (natives) work so hard, he didn't do anything to make this situation better. He saw that, but he hid it somewhere deep in his heart. It seemed that this represented the human's darkness.
I didn't like reading this book actually because this book was to hard for me to read through and understand. In addition, the speed was a bit sluggish. Therefore, I don't recommend this book to my classmates. If there is anyone who is interested in European history, especially colonial period, I guess they can enjoy reading this!

 This story was written in 1999 by Jonathan Mantle. Benetton is well known to all over the world as a face of huge company which took various kinds of new trend and product to catch people's eye. The family try to create something new and seek for the needs of people by not only product clothes, but also advertising to appeal their goods and so on.

What I learnt from BENETTON was that Luciano . I've never heard of a man who took international success in business with his family. His motivate power to his family must be stronger than someones, I thought. He also has objective views constantly, so that such a purpose conscious  led him to success.

     This book was published in 1999 and written by Jonathan Mantle. As everyone know that Benetton is the name of brand. The background of this book stared when it was the war of America and British, and then unfortuntly Luciano Benetton's father died at least knowing that the war was over. He left a widow, and four young children... In 1995, Giuliana Benetton who was Luciano's sister produced her first collection. The sweaters were in traditional styles, but the different was in the colors. Yellows, greens, and pale blues; nobody had seen colors like these in sweaters before. Luciano and Giuliana gave the collection the French name "Tres Jolie". There were no colorful clothes, there were most quiet color clothes, so their sweater became populor among young people. In 1965 spring, their first factoly was completed, and in this summer their first shop "My market" was opend in Italy. Then this time, they changed their company name Tres Jolie to Benetton. Luciano wanted to reach a stage where their own name was on their clothes. Their success was made by their unusual advertisement. He thought that showing clothes on show window without any explanation is the best way. He advertised their clothes with the message of society issue, and he build up the image of their company.

There was only Benetton's history, but I was excieted to read their history. I know theri brand. If you are interested in his brand, you would better to read this book!

 This story is about a poor family.  A main character is Luciano Benetton.  He was a school boy.  Since his father died, however, he had to quit it and started working in order to make money to live.  He did no people to support him financially but his family.  He did several things that nobody had tried before; using vivid colors in the clothes, changing a way of people shopping.  These have led him and his family success.

  

I recommend you to read this book.  It is partly because the story is nonfiction.  You can easily see how serious the situation was by reading this.  This book include one lessen.  Do something new, and you will be able to success.

      Now, the company Benetton is very famous around the world and everyone has ever heard of the name. The Benetton is a Italian family starts to build a company. There are struggles, hard work and risk taking on the way to their success. 

      I would like to recommend this book to my friends who are interested in business. This story tells the importance of the way of advertisement and family's support. The family members help each other and think seriously about how they run their company. How they advertise their company is so effective that it leaves a strong image on people's mind. Benetton tells us that we need to keep on trying to create new produces. It is also necessary to take a risk to have a successful business.
