This story makes me thinking about prejudice. While I read it I was sad and I was just confused to think about feeling of Japanese who lived in the generation. However, after I finished to read this book, it came up another feelings. The love story of Ishmael and Hatsue was moving. I can't express how the story was with a few word, but I realized we need to know more the histrical aspect such as what they thought at the time. I also realized how the relashionship was important. I recommend you to read this book or watch the movie, and think about deeply. You might find a feeling that you forget now.
Prejudice..it is hard thing to think about, isn't it? this atory is about just after the World War II and i think it was hard time for Japanese to live overseas. Just because he was japanese, the prejudice occurred. i felt sad....great recommendation! thank you Haruna
