Dolphin Music

DOLPHIN MUSIC

Dolphin Music was written by Antoinette Moses, and first published in 1999. The genre is Future Thriller, and the theme is love and human being. The main characters are Saul Grant who is a writer and music critic, Caroline Fry who is a musician, and also Saul’s girl friend, Ruth who is a old woman, Sue Hunter who is Ruth’s granddaughter, and there are some evil people like captain Marrs and Dick Lane. This story is about the life of human being in 2051. It is too hot to go out side so people just enjoy the virtual reality and the music made by dolphins. The controller is ruling government of Europe, and keeps people happy in virtual reality. Saul and Carline have only met in the virtual reality, but they are couple. Also, the year 2051, more than three quarters of the population of Europe is over seventy years old and need some people to support them so Saul went to Ruth’s house as this work. Before this visit, he went to many houses to support old people, but this time was different. Ruth could do things by her own, and she told him about dolphin music which he loves listening and writing about as a writer, and also a music room where dolphins make music. She showed a picture and said, “The government is hunting dolphins to make music, and dolphins sing when they think they are dying.” After he got home, on the internet, he told Carline about music room and the controller was hearing the conversation because it was government secret. Saul is being searched by Captain Marrs and Saul is going to rescue the dolphins with Ruth and Sue. Will Saul rescue the dolphins? What will happen between Saul and Carline, and Saul and Sue? I cannot say the answers. If you want to know, read the book!

I really enjoyed this book. I love the books about future, and this story was like reality so I was so excited during I was reading it. Love is strong, and sometimes it changes world. The love of Carline was so deep and the world was changed. This book made me think deeply about how people treat animals and how the power of love is strong.
