THE CALL OF THE WILD

I read this book in train because it takes me 1.5 hours to go to school by train. When I read this, I was close to tears, really. If I read this in my room, I would cry. What made me so sad? The protagonist, Buck's life was full of ups and downs. He is a big dog (his weight may be over your weight!), and he is really clever and strong dog. But he didn't know his real power at first because he was a house dog and lived with Mr. Miller who was a nice man. And he was stolen and forced to work as a sledge dog. Buck had to learn how to live in the wild through his hard jorneys. His talents were awesome! He learned a lots very quickly!!! If he wasn't so clever like that, he couldn't survive.
This theme is selfish people and wild animals, I think. The stupid men hit and whip Buck again and again to force Buck to work. I think they regard themselves as the strongest animals in the world even though they aren't. They used clubs and whips to fight although dogs couldn't use any equipments. It's unfair, isn't it? And if Buck was not stolen, he lived with Mr. Miller happily ever after. (I don't know whether the life with Mr. Miller was the best life for Buck or not. But he never been hit and whipped, and he could eat enough foods.) And if dogs weren't kept by humans, dogs could live in the wild freely! So keeping dogs is the biggest problem. Maybe I don't have the right to say like that, because I live with a dog now. But there is no space for dogs to live alone in Japan. So the only thing that I can do for dogs is to love them. But to live in the wild is the best for all animals, I think.
Anyway, this book is easy to read. I could read this for a few hours. So if you're interested in, please read this!
