The place in this book is 1900's Russia during Russian Revolution and World War Ⅰ. There are four people, Yury, Tonya, Lara, and Pasha. They were looking for their each love in living war-torn Russia, so the book's theme is romantic love history.
The auther is Boris Pasternak who was born in Moscow in 1890. He wrote stories during 1920s and 1930s, but the soviet government accepted him as an offcial "Soviet writer". Dr Zhivago also wasn't allowed to publish by the government, but it appered in Italy in 1957 and won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1958. So, it is the why it was published in Italy.
This book is so famous novel and its movie aws also published, so enjoy it!
