     This book was a movie, and adapted from the novel by Max Collins. The theme is war and death, and the genre is War Drama. The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg in 1998, and first published as a book at the same time. The main characters are Captain John H. Miller. At the beginging, the captain and other soldiers are in the war on Omaha Beach. They are fighting against German. Captain is always positive even though he is in the war. After the captain and some soldiers survived from the war, the United States Depertment of War found three of the four brothers in Ryan family have died, but they did not know about the youngest brother James Ryan. Captain, and other six members are send to the war to find and save one guy. They do not know where is him but they go and try to find him. Can they find him? Does some of the seven soldiers die? Find it by yourself. and you can find a beautiful ending.

I recommend you to read this book and th emovie. you can feel something defferent from the movie if you read the book. This movie is really popular that got the Academy Award, but many people do not read the story. In this book, we can feel how war is sad, and how terrible war is. Now we are living in peace, and we are forgeting about old wars like WW II. From the story, you will find the importance of telling people about death in the war, and how brave each soldiers were. It was published by Boris Pasternak in 1965. It also was filmed in America and Italy. The film got the academy award. The story was loved many people.

It is about Russia. The background is Russian Revolution. There are four men and wemen. Their name are Yury, Tonya, Lara and Pasha. They are main charactors. They found love and lost it .... and then..

It is famous book. You can learn about Russia's history from it. If you are interested it, I recommend to read it ! Thank you.

The theme is love and comedy. There is a man who is always late for his friends' wedding.  His name is Charles. One day at the weddings, he met a woman who is pretty. He fall in love with her. Her name is Carrie. They are getting well each other and then love each other...but something will happen. It is at other people's wedding. Who is the bride ? She is Carrie ! And then....

I think  it is complicated but super funny. You can't stop to read it ! I recommend it to my classmates. Thank you.

When summer comes

This is the story written by Helen Naylor. It is placed in London. The main charactors are Anna and Stephen. They have been married for 10 years. They escaped from the stress of London, the stress of working. At first they really enjoyed their vacation, but suddenly Stephen was called by his office, and he had to go back to London, leaving Anna in a seaside village. In there she met a fisherman, Tristan, and soon they fell in love.

I don't recommend this book......that was a little bit boring and not so exciting.

Gone with the Wind Part 1 & 2

This is really famous story written by Margaret Mitchell. This is placed in America, during civil war.
The main charactor is a strong and beautiful woman, Scarlett. She loved Ashley, who is her childhood friend, but he had been already decided to get married with other woman, Melanie. She was so jealous. But a nice guy, Rhett became to fall in love to Scarlett, and her fate became really complicated.

I really recommend this book for especially my age students. It makes us think about love, war, and family. Scarlett is very powerful, and most men love her, but she shows us a part of the women's dirty side(for example, jealousy, money), so we might learn a lot from her way of living. It's good.

The Garden Party and other Stories

This book was written by Katherine Mansfield in 1998. Each story show us one aspect of human life. You will notice that many different people exsist in the world where you don't know.You might won't expect what might going happen next chapter, so this story was got me excited. This story begins in Paris and there are a young man who has neggative aspects and doesn't care for having human relationship with people, but one day, he will find a women  that she may has simmilar mood with him.  After read of this story, you never suggest your life in the future, but there is one way if you try to change your life. Good luck with what you are doing now!

memoirs of geisha

This story is about a 9 year-old girl ,chiyo. She was born in   poor and small village.  After her mother was dead, she had to move to Gion in Kyoto.  She became a bigginar of geisha.  She needed someone to help her but  Hatumomo,a top of all the other geisha, hated her a lot and tried to make her alone. 

One day, she met a man on the street.  She fell in love with him.  How is this love going to be? and do hatumomo and chiyo can get along?

This has a lots story.  To be honest, I didn't understand who is who and who did what.  There are too many people and  this is so complecated!! I don't recommend you to read book but watch movie!

One of stroies is about prime minister and his secretary.  He was a young and nice looking guy. One day he fell in love with one of his new secteries. Thought he was shy and couldn't consentrate on his work because of his big love to her, how can he get her know more and how are they going to be??
More 3 or 4 stories are in this book, young boy and girl's one,collegues' and so on.   You will see how these loves get together in chrismas!

This story is about a lady called Megaret.  She is honest and says what she thinks is right.  She lived with her father and mother happily.  But one day because her father was no longer chrischan, they had to move to another place.  This was the point which changed her life completely.  There were many poor lobors in a place  she moved.  She could get along with them despite of a big differents between their lives and hers. 

One day she met a man who was the leader of  the lobors.  He treated them likes a thing and tried not to give them a right.  But once he saw her, he fell in love with her.  How is this love going to be? This is a romance story but at the same time shows you who bad the era was in 1850.

 This story is mystery. I love mystery story, so I choosed this one. This book was writen by Richard Macndrew.
 One day Billy sead that he kill some one. But he was drinked so no one believed him. But there are corpse at the place where Billy sead. Is offender is Billy? Or someone else?
 It was fun for me to read this book becouse I wanted to know the offender and truth of this affair. I want to read more mystery stories.

 This story is about love. There are many kind of story in this book, so there are many characters. All characters was conected at last, in x'mas. I thougat this story is little complicated, becouse there are many story in one book. But it was very intresting and romantic.
 From this book, I could lern about love and importance of love, also friend. I felt happy when I finished reading this. I recomend you to read this book, and I want to watch this movie.

This book was witten by the American crime writer Patricia Highsmith. The main character is Tom Ripley who is a dangerous mix of charm and evil.  He can be caring and sensitive. But he can also kill calmly without guilt.

One night, he is insulted by a tall Englishman Jonathan at a party. He gets irritated. Months later, one man comes his home and asks him for help with two murders. He declines it, but he has just a terrible idea  at the time. He remembers the tall Englishman and dicides to involve him in the murders. He starts a dangerous and nasty game.....

I think this story is really interesting! Viewed objectively, Ripley is cruel man ,but he isn't completely cruel man. His mind changes little by little, so I couldn't hate him. His complicated character is so attractive for me. I can't understand his intention.
Anyway, please check this book!!

This story is about the summer journey of four boys, Gordie, Chris, Teddy, and Vern. One day, Vern eavesdrops that there is a dead body in the forest. He says to his friends, Gordie, Chris, and Teddy, " You guys want to go and see a dead body?" They decide to go to look for it. As they face the dangers on their way, what do they learn???

 

I think the themes of this story are the importance of friends and American gap-widening society. I was impressed the scene, Gordie and Chris talk about their worry. I felt it was hard to get out of gap-widening society. If you have interest in this book, please read it!!!

     While I read this book, I was really confused. Because there are so many charactors. This is love story, but I think it's also like comedy or something, so I like reading this book. There lots kind of love, but I love all this story. I want to read this book again December, near Christmas season. After reading this book, I want to watch this movie, too!! What a funny book! If I have time, I'll watch this movie. You should read this book or watch this movie. I believe you can enjoy it.

     This book was written by Margaret Johnson. This book's beginning is in the jungle, because of trip. The main character is Jennifer. She likes traveling. Lisa is sharing Jennifer's room. But their character were really different, so they dislike each other. But while this trip, both of them love the same man. He is very attractive. He managed to relate both of them. But two women realized his thinking, so...
     I think this book is love story. But while I was reading this book, I thought it's not only love story.

     This theme of story is love. This story about a married couple who are Stephan and Anna. They live in London. They are planning to go to Polreath to spend their summer vacation. Anna is really looking foward to it. Stephan is alos really ecxited it, but before he leaves London his company is in troble. He tried to talk about it to Anna, but he can't. He finds it is not good to leave London, however he knows how much Anna is looking foward to it. He dicied to go to Polreath. They escape from London, and go to Polreath, then they meet Tristan. He is a owner of Dolphin cottage which they stay in Polreath. Tristan has a girlfriend, but she is not here. He can't forget Anna scince when he saw her. Her face didn't  leave his head. After a few weeks latar, they get along with Tristan. When they enjoy their vacation, Stephan's phone rings and he is called back to London. He didn't really wish to go back to London without Anna, but he had to. It leaves only Anna here after he left. It is good for Tristan. They had a dinner and they kissed. Of couse, they knew it's not good. After 2 days later, Stephan came cack Polreath. However, Anna and Tristan can't forget that night. Will Tristan know this seacret? How will be their relationships?
     It was easy to read his story for me. This book makes me to read more. I can't wait to know the  all story. However, I thought it's not deep story. I didn't need to think about anything deeply, so I could read relaxed. I recommend to read this book, if you have a time:)

19 men and women are in love each other. Daniel who lost his wife because of ill. He builds a happy home with his son Sam, and his son falls in love with a girl who is a same age with him. There are office love. Harry, who is boos in office, is in illicit love with Mia who is coworker of him. He has family with Karen, though. Sarah loves Karl for 2 years, but she can't say it to him. Prime Ministar, David loves Natalie. She is stuff of the official residence. Peter and Mark, they are best friend. However Mark loves Peter's wife Juliet. There are so many couple appear, so it's confusing. However the end of the story was good. I recommend to read this book and after that, I really recommend to watch the movie!

While he go back to his office, Anna and Tristan did wrong thing. They stayed the village for few weeks. While this vacation, Anna and Stephen want to live there. But Anna and Stephen think different things, so....

     While I read this book, I wanted to know what happens next!! I really enjoyed this book. I can understand Anna, Stephen, and Tristan's thinking. But this book's end is not clear... I like books that has clear ending, so I was disappointed. If you don't mind about that, you should read!!

Gone with the wind is written by Margaret Mitchell and story of love and war. This is the time based on American Civil war.

The protagonist of this story is Scarlett O’Hara. She caught all men’s hearts. However, there was a only man she really loved and wanted to marry. That is Ashley Wilkes. One day, Scarlett heard Ashley gets marry with Melanie. This news made her disappointed. But Scarlett was sure that Ashley‘s true love is not Melanie but her. At the same time, the war had started. People in south thought they would win this war but the truth is, there are no factories to make weapons and ships. What they have is brave, cottons and institution of slavery. What is going to be happened to south and the relationship between Scarlett and Ashley?

Before I read this story, I already had known the title of this book. As I read this story, it is great chance to know about American civil war and how the people think and live at that time. I am really interested in what is going to be happened at gone with the wind part two.

North and South

North and South is written by Elizabeth Gaskell,

 

This is the story based on industrial revolution in England in 1850. The Protagonist called Margaret Hale is a beautiful and strong woman. Her family used to be a pretty rich and lived in Helstone, south of England. But one day, they moved to Miltone, north of England where the city was famous for industrial. After they were moving, their poor life started. Margaret was getting used be poor mill workers. As she knew about how poor these workers were, she starts hating their boss, Mr. Thornton. However, Mr. Thornton fell in love with Margaret. What’s going to be happened to them!?

This is not just a love story. You also can understand a social problem such as strike. Margaret lost a lot of thing since she moved to Miltone but she also gained a lot. I recommend this story to the people who are interested in romance and historical background in England.

This story has several different stories in it but all related to love. At the end of story, all characters are connected. My favorite part was the story about a man musician. He is not popular now as much as he used be. Although his manager supported him very well, he complains about everything. On the Christmas day, the musician realized how much he was supported by his manager, so he told his love to his manager.

Also there was a story about a elementary school boy, Sam. Sam liked her class mate but he could not tell her about that. He tried to practice drum for her to show he is cool boy at the Christmas concert. Can he tell her what he thinks about her on the christmas day?? You will see at the end of this story.

I do recommend this story to my entire classmate. Especially in Christmas seasons. You will notice a lot of loves such a love to family, friends, girlfriends and boyfriends.

Though Murdrer Maker draws case of the revenge, a woman found something more important. .
As now is like these world, we should think about it throw this book. This book is not reality story, however, my heart was always dancing. Please try to read and think..☆

This book was focused on Grand Central Station in New York. This place has various people and their life styles are  also different.A man who is a private investigator met a homeless woman, and she got in sick. This happen was really hot day in summer. On the other hand, a rich woman appeared. These two women's life styles and leveles were not similar,however, one happen brings them a chance. Our world is not fair. We always eat three meals in a day, on the other hand, there are so many people who can't eat anything in a day. This poorler problem is often focused by TV problem and we often hear about this problem. If you read this book, you will think about the thing what should you do and also you will find various happiness in your daily life.

Even if the travels are short, tourlist will find something than they expected. He didn't have anything precious then. His life was just point of the start. Please find the thing he actually found in a trip..☆

I thought Dr. Maxine Cassidy has an ability to take action and has a storong sense of justice. She has strong mind!! If you like a mystery and suspense story, I recommend this book. Love actually is known to many people as a movie. It was written and directed by Richard Curtis in 2003. He has also worked on other very successful movies like Bridget Jones's Diary, and Notting Hill.

This book is set in London, England before Christmas. It has a lot of different stories about love. Husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend, father and son, mother and daughter, and one-sided love... Everyone hopes that they reach the climax of life on Christmas. At night of Eve, all dramas begin to move toward a happy ending.

When I read this book, I was confused. It has many stories and characters. Therefore, I watched the movie to understand clearly. Love actually is not a love story, it is a story about love. I thought love has a lot of kinds, and all loves are beautiful. In the last scene, all stories is connected!! All characters have more than one connection between other characters. For example, relatives, friends, colleagues, and love. This book is very interesting. I recommend my classmates to read it. Love actually is all around!!!

      One day, a boy came to the school in Rouen. His name was Charles Bovary, son of retired doctor. He worked really hard and entered doctor school then became a doctor. He married to Emma and started a new marriage life. But she didn't satisfy the normal life not like count.            

     Charles thought she didn't like that place so they decided to move. The new place and new people made her relaxed. But Emma fell in love with Reon. Nothing happened and he went to Paris. She felt bored and couldn't be patient. At that time, a rich person, Rudolph visited her and she loved her. One day, he asked to come horse riding. Emma wrote to him almost everyday and felt happy.  Charles made a big mistake, and she felt disillusion. But she bought lots of rich thing s form a man, Roulu.  She wanted to spend a time with Rudolph but he didn't , so he wrote to her and disappeared. She shocked but at the time she met Reon. 

     Emma went to see Reon every week.  She made a lot of debt loan and she asked to help to Reon and Rudolph, but no one helped her. She couldn't stop herself. Emma drank a poison and died. Before she died, she felt...

     I recommend you to read this. But I don't recommend you to live like this. Lie or doubt is always make the people's life crazy. I know it's difficult to live honesty always, but it's harder to live like slave. No one feel happy don't they?

      In 1870, Russia. The government official, Krenin's wife, Anna was a beautiful lady. She came to Moscow to mediate between her brother and his wife. At that time, she met a young officer, Vronsky and fell in love.

     The owner, Ryovin proposed Anna's sister but, she loved Vronsky. However, Vronsky ignored her and she got sick.

     Anna went back to Peterborough, and Vronsky went with her. Their relationship became more deeply. But her husband didn't divorce her. 

　　　Anna born Vronsky's child after that she became sick. Karenin came to her and forgave her. Vronsky saw that and killed himself but didn't success. Sometime later, he retired and brought Anna to foreign country.

      Anna and Vronsky behaved bad and banished form the society. But Anna and Karenin couldn't got divorce. Vronsky didn't satisfy with the situation and didn't love her little by little. Anna suspected his love. And she decided to ....

     I recommend you to read this book if you love two boys at same time... Anyways it can't be!!! It always difficult I think, to love people. But love is no visible thing, invisible but we can feel. 

Memoirs of a Geisha

  This is the story about Chiyo's life. She was taken from small village and sold to the okiya in Kyoto. She lived there with some people. One of them, Pumpkin, and Chiyo got on well each other. But another girl, Hatsumomo who lived there dislike Chiyo and made trouble for her. During the terrible life, she met a kind man, Chairman. He gave her his handkerchief to stop her from crying. She always keep it with her. Finally, Pumpkin is on her way to become a Geisha as Hatsumomo's younger sister and Mameha became Chiyo's older sister. Hatsumomo didn't like Mameha too, so Pumpkin was forced not to talk with Chiyo. Chiyo did her best to be head geisha, and...

  Some of my friends recommended me to read this, and now, I understand their feelings! The level of this book is 6, however, I couldn't stop reading this. Various things happened, and she suffered from them. I felt same feelings as her when I read this. If you don't read this yet, you should try this!

The Bourne Identity

　　

  The man lost his memory. He couldn't remember who he was,what happened to him and why he was there, though he was shot by someone and close to death. He decided to go to find out who he is. But some men saw him and shouted "Why is he alive?". Since then, his life was threatened by various people. He was strong, and he knew how to fight and use guns. Can he take his memory back through his dangerous trip?

  The level of this book is 4, so it's easy to read this. I love this kind of stories! But this story is quite difficult for me. The main character has some names, and it's hard to remember them. And I have a question. He has been shot many times through this story, but he is always alive. If I were him, I would be killed. Why didn't he die? I should read it again to understand whole story and find the answer before I return this book to school!

 

The Talented Mr. Ripley

 

  The protagonist of this book is not good man. The man, Tom Repley was asked to go to Italy by Mr. Greenleaf. He wanted Tom to drag his son, Dickey back to the United States.Then Dickey lived and enjoyed in Italy. Tom was bored with his life in the U.S. So he visited Dickey's house in Italy.Though Tom and Dickey had met each other, Dickey didn't remember who Tom was. But Tom and Dickey became good friends soon, and Tom stayed Dickey's house instead of hotel. They enjoyed playing, drinking and tripping. However, Tom killed Dickey because of a quarrel with Dickey. And Tom decided to pretend to be Dickey. Since then, Tom's new exciting life started.

 

I think Tom is crazy. He doesn't feel sorry about Dickey. He always worries about himself and gets his own way. I don't know if Tom is really happy after stoling everything from Dickey. We need to make a big effort to make us happy, I think.

 

I enjoyed reading this book, and I read this for a day. I heard that there are two movies that this story was based on, and there are a little difference between the original book and the movies. I'm going to borrow the DVDs next Thursday! If you have some time, let's try it!

William Shakespeare is the greatest playwright in the world. He is said that he created about 20,000 words by himself. He was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. He wrote very famous plays, comedies, histories, tragedies. He also wrote many poems.

Here is my favorite story’s storyline from this book, The Merchant of Venice. The protagonist, Antonio was a moneylender, and liked by all the people except the unprotagonist, Shylock. He was always planning to hurt Antonio. One day, Antonio asked him to borrow money. Shylock thought it was the very chance to hurt him. So this cruel man made him promise. The promise is, if Antonio didn’t pay back the money by the date, Shylock will cut off Antonio’s flesh for 1 pond. Antonio thought it was just a joke and agreed. But…

I found this story very interesting. First I felt very sorry for Antonio, but his rescuer was really smart so that I relieved. I thought that the winner is the one who are smarter and kind. The person who only thinks about his or her positive points will definitely lose.

I recommend this book to anyone who are interested in literature and who are going to take literature class from next semester! Actually I didn’t know many tales by Shakespeare so it became good preparation for the class. This book is easy to read, too! Next time, I want to read other Shakespeare story.

This book was written by Mary Stewart and published in 1964, it is a bit related to William Shakespeare's The Tempest. There is beautiful islands called Corfu near Greek and Lucy who is an actress visit there to meet her sister. She was going to enjoy her holidays, but had already involved with this islands of mystery, as getting along with her relatives, friends, an assistance of photographer and a famous ex-movie star. One day, Spiro who is working for assistance were boating to the sea but he didn't come back to home. Nobody sure whether he is alive though a man who went to there with him is in home. Everybody shocked this incident and Lucy is also afraid of wired accident. However, she becomes positive to solve this happening and take an action as long as she can. Would she find out suspect in this ilands?

I hope readers can  guess suspect as enjoying story. This genre are thriller and adventure, so you might be getting exciting. In my opinion, there was one thing that I couldn't understand. I wonder why dolphins are emphasised many times in this book..Anyways, I thought human has deep relationship with animals at least.

     This book was first published by Alan Maley in 2009, and it became the winner of Language Learner Literature Award. Its genre is Human Interest, and the theme is Love and Life. The main character is Chee Seng who is 16-year-old Malaysian boy. around him, there are his mother, father and great friends such as Dev, Faisal and Ka Choon. Puri is the maid and she always makes great cook. Auntie Swee Eng is Chee Seng's kind elderly relative, and her stories make Chee Seng think a lot about life. Ka Ting is a rich classmate of Chee Seng, and Jessica is Chee Seng's girl friend.
     This story starts weirdly. Chee Seng is in the hospital and the story seems really sad, but from the next chapter, I could not stop reading because it is too interesting. Just after his birthday, his happy life has changed. His father left the house with another woman, and just before that, Chee Seng saw his father was sleeping with the woman. After his father's leaving, his mother gets crazy, and complains about everything about him, but Auntie Swee Eng always supports him, and tell about a lot of stories. At school, his friends told everyone about Chee Seng's problems, and he became alone at school. Then he meet Ka Ting who he has not talked before. Ka Ting invites him for the party and tells Jessica likes Chee Seng. They became couple, and make some plan to leave the town together otherwise Jessica will have to leave to Australia. The nignt they curry out the plan, they are at Ka Ting's party, and like always Ka Ting gives people Pills which make people feel better. Chee Seng does not take it but Jessica does, and gets crazy. She dances closely with another guy and get into the pool with topless with others. Then the police come. oh!!! Will they be able to escape from the town? Will his father come back? What will happen at the End...... Gosh I canot tell you....


This book was really interesting! I canot believe how fast I finished reading it. I recommend you to read this because the feeling the main charactor Chee Seng has is similar to us, I guess. Life is unexpected, and no one knows it. From the story, I learned everything depends on your feeling in your life. From the story, you can learn how difficult life is. At the end, it seems great ending:)

The time of ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ is about World war Ⅱ. The protagonist, Nitta Sayuri’s life was full of ups and downs.

Sayuri was sent to Gion, Kyoto when she was twelve or so. Because her family had little money and her mother was very sick. It was really tough for her to become a geisha. There were always many difficulties and problems around her. But she was getting to be the most famous and popular geisha in Gion…

Some words from this still remain in my mind. ‘We don’t become geisha because we want our lives to be happy; we become geisha because we have no choice.’ For Sayuri, if her family were rich, she would marry and have children after growing up. She didn’t have to go to Gion. Many people say it is really important to have your own dream. But it is sometimes more important to have much money and live. I think it is sad, but it is the truth.

Before reading this, I read ‘Gone with the Wind’. And I think both ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ and ‘Gone with the Wind’ have a similar point. That is, gender problem. At that time in Japan, women were expected not to be strong or expected to agree with men’s idea just like in America. Women were expected to be beautiful toys.

I recommend this book to read. You can learn manner and rule of geisha. That’s interesting. You can get to know about war, too. But if you want to enjoy this book more, why don’t you read ‘Gone with the Wind’ and contrast two stories?

This book shows a great journey of one geisha. As a back ground information, it was a terrible era if the economic in Japan. Men have all the power and women are just nothing more than beautiful toys. The main character Sayuri, a geisha in Gion has to survive in such a hard world for women. Sayuri’s attitude of achieving her dream is very enthusiastic; that she never loses our sympathy. However she suffers on the way to be one of the greatest geisha, she becomes more and more important person in Gion. This is not, however, only a story of a geisha’s survival. It is also the story of her struggle for her secret love for the only man who ever showed her any kindness. This man is one of the most important men in Kyoto, and seems to be forever out of reach.

     I would like to recommend this book to every single girl, who are achieving your dream, working hard or have struggle for your one side love. The main character Sayuri definitely takes our sympathy greatly, in particular, if you r age is around Saryuri’s. Her journey of survival shows the universal woman’s suffering. Then this book is highly valued and loved by everyone beyond nationalities and era.

This book was first published by Jane Austen in 1813. Its genre is romance novel, and the theme is pride and prejudice as you can see as the title of the book. This story has many characters, but the main character is Elizabeth Bennet who is the second of five daughters  in a family. there are also important characters such as Mr. Bringley who is a charming young man moves in to Netherfield Park in the neighborhood of the Bennet family, Mr. Darcy who is a friend of Bringley, doesn't talk a lot, has pride and selfish. And also Elizabeth's father's and mother's brothers and sisters concerned with the story. Long time ago, women were not allowed to work, and marriage was the only happiness for women. This story begins with Bringley's moving into Netherfield Park, and at a ball, Bringley met Elizabeth's elder sister Jane, and Darcy met Elizabeth. When Elizabeth met Darcy, both of them did not feel good for each other because there was prejudice. He proposed once, but she rejected because she thought he was the bad guy who bothered her sister's marriage, and his friend's future post. But as the time passed, and the misunderstanding is straightened out, Elizabeth realized how Darcy is a great man, and how stupid she was. But unfortunately, when she noticed the truth, Darcy's aunt came to visit Elizabeth and said she cannot get married to him. What is going to happen next!!! You, find the end.


When I started reading this book, I was confused because there were too many characters, and it was too far from our normal life. Characters have parties, and acting as if they are great people. From the story, prejudice controls our feeling for others, and sometimes it makes the relationship worse. I hope you can get the feeling I got from this book which is being yourself is good, and break the prejudice. i think you can enjoy this.

DEATH OF AN ENGLISHMAN

It is the time for everyone to enjoy Christmas. However the town is full of Christmas shoppers and half the police is already on holiday, the very complicated murder happened in Florence. On a foggy morning, an Englishman is found dead, shot in the back, in his apartment during the night. It seems to be an ordinary murder at first but there are some mysteries with this case. Some witnesses say they heard two bangs in the night. Who are the suspects, what are the clues? The police manages to figure out what happed, and why.

     Death of an Englishman was Magdalen Nabb’s first novel. She is a well known English author. She also writes very successful children’s books. I would like to recommend this book to people who like murder mysteries. We want to find out what happed, and who the killer was; but they are also studies of police.
