When you see this title, Dragon's eggs, you guess that this story is a kind of adventures like me. At first, I believed that there might be some dragons and a hero and princess. But this story is different from my guess. There is no dragon and princess, but there is a hero whose name is Tendai. Let me talk about him. His father lost his job and got sick. That's why he had to move into the small village of Mangwe with his family after finishing school. In the village, he met a beautiful girl, Sibongile. He got to love her, and she also loved him. It was one such day, one of his brothers stepped on a landmine, and it exploded. He was injured and lost some parts of his arm and leg. Everyone thought there was no landimine around their village because the mayor said they removed all landmines. But the landmines were not removed yet. Tendai and Sibongile were talking about this and decided to spread the fact. But she was killed by landmine on the next day. Tendai remembered the decision and tried to tell the stories both his brother's and Sibongile's.
This story wasn't fantasy and I didn't enjoy reading this actually. But this book taught a lot of things to me like how dangerous the landmines are. I knew few information about landmine before reading this, and I wasn't interested in it. But to know about it is really important to us. The problem is ours even though there are few landmines in Japan. (Or there is no landmine?) I also learned the importance of relationships between people. The protagonist was helped by many people. Some of them had never met him, but they heard his story and helped him. It was difficult for me to help strangers, but I decided to try to help if they really need someone's help.
If you're interested in this, please read it! Be careful not to image that this book is fantasy or adventure!
