At the start of the book, it is spring. Mole spent a dull days with nothing to do. One day, he met Rattey at the river and they became good friend. They started to live together in Rattey's home. When they practiced on rowing a boat, they met Toad and Budger. Toad is a very selfish and boastful. Budger is a sincere and kind. It warmed my heart to read this story. I think this story is divided into two chapters. The main character of the first half is a Mole and secound half is a Toad. I was greatly touched by their friendship. I think their character is like a real human. I saw the importance of friendship through this book. Maybe, I think this story is very heartwarming, so this is fit for a mild climate to read. Right then, when is a mild climate seasons? .....Certainly,now!! It is spring! If you don't know real friendship, I recommended to read this book. Perhaps you may feel like seeing your friends soon.
