Gulliver's Travels

Gulliver's Travels
This story was written in 1726 by Jonathan Swift who was born in 1667 in Dublin. It was read by eveyone, from adults to children. It is still enjoyed by readers of all ages today. First, he made several voyges as a ship's doctor. Then he decided to join a ship sailing to the islands in the South Pacific Ocean. Gulliver's strange trip began from here. He left for voyage, but his ship was hitted a violent storm and he drifted ashore at a one island. This is a Lilliput where the people are only fifteen centimetres tall. In this island, he encountered a war and play a big part in it. However, he didn't establish good relations with the King and people, so he dicided to leave Lilliput. Second, he arrived in Brobdingnag where the people are very giant like a mountain. His master made a show of him to earn moneys and shifted him to the Queen finally. Then he left Brobdingnag. Next, he arrived and spent time in three island or country, which is in Laputa, Glubbdubdrib and Houyhnhnms. Laputa is a flying island where the people interests are only music and math. They don't care about what is happening around them. Glubbdubdrib is the island of magicians where all the important people are good at magic. Houryhnhnms is a country where is only Houys and Yahoos. Houys are horses and Yahoos are ugly animals which looks like a human. This country was controled by horses using Yahoos. In here, he despaired he looks like a Yahoo and hope to become a horse.However..........

I think theme of this story is a adventure and human being. The end of this story is a little sad. I felt pity for Galliver. Maybe, almost all the people knows this story, but this was a first time I read it. To be honest, I thought this is a just fantasy story before I read it, but it was wrong. This story's main contents is complaint of the society and human being. I could reflect the human being should be. If you have never read this book, you should read it. I think you would get some important things to live in future and change your view of human being and society.
