Gulliver's Travels

Gulliver's Travels

This book was first published in 1726 by Jonathan Swift, and this story has been movies before. This book is about Gulliver's Travel around the world. Gulliver is a man from England and he decided to go to sea as a shp's doctor. the theme of this story is Thinking life deeply. When he left for journy, we always get lost and went to many interesting places such as Lilliput where people who are fifteen centimeters tall are living, Brobdingnag where Giant people are living, Laputa which is the flying island, Glubbdubdrib which has many magicians, Luggnagg where people live for evar, and the country of the Houyhnhnms where terrible looking cteature called Yahoo, and horses are. At the beginning, he was proud of his country and human beings, but after he traveled these places and talked with small people, giant people and horses, he sunnedly realised how stupid human beings are. Human fight wars, lie and steal. After he got back to England...I cannot say anything from here! Only I can say is this story will make you think about our life. this is really interesting story so check it soon!

At the beginning, I thought this book is about only funny story but after I read this, it made me think about human beings and how stupid we are. Actually, human think we are the most intelligent creature, but if you think if you were a ant, then what would you feel about human beings? maybe I would feel human are selfish and stupid. Think this way, and you will enjoy reading this book because this book is about changing the view to see our life.

  1. Midori,
You really understood the theme and intent of Jonathan Swift. He was a superb satarist. He often shocked people with his ideas just to get them to think deeply about the world around them. It is great that you understood the deeper ideas of this book.
