This book was fitst published in 1906 by Edith Nesbit and now people all over the world know this book. The main characters are Roberta, Peter, and Phyllis.The theme of this book is family love and human drama. At the beginning of this story, they were living with thier parents and they were rich so they had everything they want. but one day two men came and thier father went somewhere. they became poor and had to move to the white house near the railway. one old gentle man who take 9:15 train every morning is closely concerned with the children and from the accidents near the railway, they meet so many nice people and grow up. sometimes the children make some problems but thier mother keeps an eye on thier children. At the end, old gentle man become the key person and some thing will happen.

I love this story because the children are pure and thinking about other people's happiness. after i finished reading this, I took back the feeling of doing something with no shame but the confidence.  My favorite character is the old gentle man because he does something at the end! i can not say this. If you read this book, I am sure you will like it. please check it.
